MIOX Signs Multi-Year Contract for Produced Water Recycling in Oil & Gas

MIOX’s Blackwater™ mobile water treatment trailer provides cost-effective and environmentally responsible produced water management.

The MIOX Blackwater trailer is a mobile water disinfection system designed to meet high volume oil and gas water disinfection needs with ease.  This dual-MIOX Mixed Oxidant Solution (MOS) system design allows oil and gas service providers to meet fluctuating water quality, oxidant demand and water volume all within a footprint no larger than 9’ by 40’.  Safe oxidizing chemistry generated at your site when you need it, with ZERO hazardous clean-up or spill procedures.

Using MIOX’s patented and innovative technology, oxidant is generated on site and on-demand using just common salt, water and power.  The on-site chemical generation process replaces the need to purchase, transport and store biocides, iron chelants and Hydrogen Sulfide scavengers.  Capable of treating in excess of 15,000 barrels per day at dosages exceeding 150 mg/l and higher depending on contaminants/constituents in the water, MOS can help achieve complete kill of both Sulfate Reducing Bacteria (SRB) and Acid Producing Bacteria (APB) while eliminating Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S).

For standard produced water disinfection requirements, the Blackwater mobile disinfection system houses two state-of-the-art on-site MOS generators engineered with superior salt and energy efficiencies.

Creating oxidant on site is cost effective and environmentally responsible, cutting back transportation requirements by up to 80%, reducing carbon emissions and fuel consumption, eliminating middle men and the storage and disposal of chemical containers.

MIOX Blackwater to be deployed to major shale formation this summer and will begin treating produced water for recycle.

New Water Treatment Technology for Safe & Chemical Free Produced and Flowback Water Recycling

The new process developed by MIOX provides drilling operators with an alternative to biocides.  Utilizing only salt, water and electricity, MIOX Mixed Oxidant Solution (MOS) technology creates a safe water disinfectant at the well-site.  This strong, yet environmentally-benign water treatment chemical is effective at microorganism and sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB) control, and can treat water in oil and gas operations at the lowest cost per barrel.

“MIOX systems are optimized for the oil and gas industry in order to keep pace with frac operations and varying water quality. Produced Water Treatment Presentation by MIOX at AAPG Eagle Ford Shale Conference

MIOX Corporation, the industry leader in on-site chemical generation for water treatment technology, announces Charles Mowrey, Business Developer Specialist – Oil & Gas will give the technical presentation “The Emerging Technology of On-site Generated Oxidants for Recycle, Reuse and Down Hole Treatments” at the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) Eagle Ford Shale Conference in San Antonio, TX on Tuesday, March 19, 2013.

The presentation by Mr. Mowrey will discuss some of the current and prospective uses of oxidants for oil and gas water treatment. The presentation will highlight the advantages to using on-site generated (OSG) chemistry over conventional treatment methods and will include MIOX’s own field performance data. Additionally, Mr. Mowrey will address the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) concerns related to using oxidants and OSG technology for disinfection in the oil and gas industry.
