Challenges in Municipal Water Treatment and the MIOX Solution

You all know MIOX chemistries are ideal for final disinfection of drinking water, but did you know they can address a wide variety of other treatment challenges?  Watch this drinking water treatment primer where Tom Muilenberg discusses how MIOX can help you or your customers meet drinking water process goals.

In this first of a three-part series on the topic, we will offer an overview of both groundwater and surface water treatment issues and solutions.  Part 2 will cover groundwater in detail, and the third webinar will offer a more in-depth discussion of surface water treatment challenges.

In this session we’ll discuss:

  • Groundwater Treatment
    • Typical process flow
    • Iron and Manganese Removal
    • Hydrogen Sulfide Removal
  • Surface Water Treatment
    • Improved coagulation (the microflocculation effect) for reduction in coagulant dosing and improved removal of natural organic matter
    • Reduction of disinfection byproduct (DBP) formation
    • Breakpoint chlorination of ammonia

We’ll also be providing some rules of thumb for calculating required dose rates for sizing purposes and set the stage for Drinking Water Treatment Parts 2 and 3.
